Kids take charge!

Requirements:

  • Must have a partner to run the camp with
  • Both people must be 12-18 years old
  • Have a suitable space to run the camp
  • Able to work with younger kids 
  • Hardworking and ready to learn

It is suggested that you have prior knowledge and background as a babysitter or in another environment working with kids but we can teach you everything you need to know!

How It Works:

  • Fill out the application below
  • After submitting the application we will contact you for an interview
  • If you are hired you will take counselor training classes which will be in person or over zoom once a week for five weeks prior to running your camp. These hour long classes will be scheduled and will cost $199 in total. The cost of the classes will cover camp materials needed to run your camp. During the classes you will have lessons on advertising, scheduling, organizing, and more. We will help you throughout the whole process and make sure you have campers coming to your camp.
  • You will also need to take a safety course which will cost $40 and include access to Red Cross CPR training.
  • As part of our program you keep 90% of the profit and Backyard Camps keep 10%.
  • You run your camp using knowledge and materials provided by Backyard Camps and you make money!
