The Story of Backyard Camps:
At the young age of 10 years old, we ran our first Backyard Camp hoping to bring together a community of neighborhood kids.
After our first camp we discovered a passion for working with other kids and teaching them how to make things they could only imagine. We recognized how accessible our camp was for families in the neighborhood so we started hosting camps in more neighborhoods and the camp bloomed. Our backyard camps became a place for kids to come together and participate in activities that stimulate their bodies and minds.
We were able to teach kids teamwork, patience, leadership and we were only kids ourselves! Since then, we run camps every summer and sometimes even in the winter, making art, learning math, cooking food, and much more. But we thought, if we could do it so could kids everywhere! Using our expertise we started teaching classes for kids to run their own backyard camp and now we are expanding to neighborhoods everywhere.
For us, there is nothing better than helping kids help other kids!
